Promise to Our Critics

Many of our critics are sincere. They love the Adventist people and they simply want to share what they
feel is the truth. We can sympathize with that! We love our critics and want to share the truth with them.
Meanwhile, here’s what we will and will not do in the process:

ALWAYS LOVE YOUR ENEMIES 

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven.”

Matthew 5:43-45

ERROR TO BE REFUTED 

“No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me,
declares the Lord.”

Isaiah 54:17

EVERYTHING DONE HONESTLY 

“How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.”

Matthew 7:4-5

ALWAYS PREPARED TO RESPOND 

“Always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with
gentleness and respect,

1 Peter 3:15

We will NOT… accuse our critics of attacking us on purpose. Many are sincere and loving people.

We will NOT… when our critics are caught taking things out of context, accuse them of doing this on purpose.

We will NOT… personally attack our critic’s character. We have no right do this, and it won’t help our cause.

We WILL… pray for our critics. They, like us, need prayer not merely in regards to the topic but in all things.

We WILL… defend the faith, no matter what the cause. See more of our promise here.
